Radiant floor heating systems by Elektra, renowned manufacturers of high quality reliable underfloor heating products, are comfortable, clean and energy efficient. Together these benefits of radiant heat make it an ideal solution for any new construction or remodeling project. If you want to heat your bathroom floors, basement or entire home bc radiant floors is your center for designing and purchasing a radiant heat system that will meet your needs. Underfloor radiant heat will add luxury and comfort to any part of your home or business

A typical radiant electric floor heating system includes the heating cable or floor heating mat(s) where thin, triple insulated heating cables are sewn on top of strong fiberglass mesh: All connected to an energy saving programmable thermostat. The rest is the heating mass of the floor itself. So simple, yet so efficient. Elektra ultra-thin radiant floor heating is designed for convenient, invisible installation. 2-3 hours to install, 20-30 years to enjoy warm floors!

What is Radiant Heat?
Radiant heat warms the closest and coldest mass, which radiates heat throughout that space evenly. In other words, radiant heat warms cold objects. Radiant heat will heat the floors, tables, and people.

Say goodbye to cold floors in the bathroom, kitchen, entry foyers or even beautifully tiled living rooms with radiant electric floor heating.

Our extra thin heating mats take up only 1/8”, and therefore they can easily be installed everywhere where ceramic, marble or stone tiles are installed. The installation is a snap and will not take more than 15% of the time needed to tile the floor under normal conditions.

Each Elektra underfloor heating mat comes as a roll of fiberglass mesh with the heating wire in it. Each is 20" wide and comes in different lengths.

Take the square footage measurment - you can cover any size by cutting the mesh (but not the heating wire) and spreading it in the shape needed.

Sizes are anywhere from 11 sq. ft. coverage up to a 133 sq. ft. After that - more than one can be used. (Parallel connection only).

Our heating mats are made for both 110V-220V and come in two distinct models.  It can have 1 power supply cord (a thicker mat) or 2 power supply cords (thinner and also bit cheaper, but just as good in quality) either 9 Watts per square foot or 14 Watts per square foot.

For complete installation a dedicated line-voltage thermostat (preferably sensing floor temperature) is also required.

The heating fiberglass mesh based mat is installed right beneath the new tiled flooring which means that the heat can be regulated fast and without annoying delays while using our dedicated line voltage thermostat with special floor temperature sensor . This is the best use of the energy for either heating up the room or just to bring much needed comfort to otherwise pretty but unpleasantly cold ceramic tiled floors.
The system is 100% fault free, and simple enough for DIY’s.

But remember - Electricity can be deadly and wiring done incorrectly can kill and start deadly and destructive fires. If you have the slightest doubt about your wiring ability, please contact a licensed electrician or repairman before doing any diagnosis or repairs.

What Does Radiant Heat Feel Like?
Have you ever strolled along the beach on a sunny day and felt the warm sand underneath your feet? Have you touched a mug that was warm because of the hot drink inside? If so, then you've felt radiant heat. Objects maintain the radiant heat until the heat sources in gone, after which the heat slowly escapes to whatever is colder and closer.

How Radiant Heat Works
When the radiant heat system is turned on, electricity is forced through the conductive heating material. For high voltage radiant heat systems, line voltage (110 V.) of electricity is forced through the heating cable. For low voltage systems, the line voltage is converted to low voltage (8-30 V.) of electricity in the control unit (which contains a step-down transformer) and this low current is then forced through the heating element. The low voltage heating elements used are either Tuff Cable or ZMesh.

The heated material then heats the flooring until it reaches the right temperature set by the floor thermostat. The radiant heat then passes through the floor and continues to heat other objects in the room (tables, chairs, people). The heat will continue to heat the room and its objects up to the ceiling. Radiant heat will give you the most consistent room temperature from floor to ceiling compared to any other heating system.

If you've lived in a house with forced air, you can crank the heat up, but the basement floor are still chilled. Installing a floor warming system will add comfort and warmth to your lifestyle.

A room heated with a forced air furnace will have cold floors and the warmest air at the ceiling. Although the air may be heated, the floors will be chilled and uncomfortable, especially for children playing on the floor.

Smart remodelling will increase the value of your home.

Many magazines publish annual tables indicating the return one can expect on investment projects like remodeling a kitchen or adding a deck. While it is quite hard to give the correct assessment or point to single most important feature worth doing more than others, one conclusion is almost certain: unlike most of the other rooms, re-modeling the kitchen and bathroom are usually the most expensive and challenging projects; but no matter who you ask – the most worth doing.

Fresh idea for kitchen and bathroom remodeling project: use natural materials like slate or ceramic tiles. Linoleums and vinyl are definitely out.

Start with envisioning your new bathroom or kitchen: lots of light, warm pleasant colors, perfect shine of the countertop, new energy efficient appliances, smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning… By the way, how would you like your morning coffee cold? So, why are you going to put up with this so pretty but ice cold brand new floor?

Have your new floors warm. Many homebuilders' surveys have shown and continue to show that, if given a choice, most new home owners prefer radiant floor heat over other types of systems.
